Steven Walker Ryan

I would like to add another prominent Ryan to the
list.
My great great uncle Steven Walker Ryan along with
his brothers founded town of Ryan Oklahoma. My great uncle Dan Ryan still
lives there, my grand father Milton G. Ryan was born there in 1900 and is
buried there.
Ryan started as a little cow town on the north
side of the Red River. When the cattle drives from Texas to the Rail Road in
Kansas along the Chisholm trail started they used the Ryan homestead to graze
after crossing the river. Later Walker was influential in getting the rail
lines to come through Ryan as a pick up point for cattle and other goods from
the southern part of Oklahoma.
